Abstract In spite of the many efforts carried out by many authors, (e.g. Frass., Barran, Andrew, and Hume, 1939; akaad and El-Ramly, 1960; Neubauer, 1962; Schurmann, 1966; Shazly, 1966; Akaad and Nowrir, 1969; shazly, 1971; akaad and shazly, 1975&1977; El-Gaby, 1976; Akaad and Noweir, 1980), the geology of the Meatiq area still represents one of Egypt. This fact was primarily due to (i) the absence of accurate dtailed field mapping, (ii) the absence of isotopic age data, (iii) the highly complicated structural picture of thisarea, (iv) the complex metamorphic history, and lastly the absence of reliable classification for the Egyptian basement. |
