Abstract
This investigation was designed to study some of the morphological charactistios of l. horie and l. forskalii in assiut distriot and comparing them with those of l. niloticus collected from lake nasser at aswan district.The variation of the morphometric indices with total length was studied in each labeo species under investigation> since most of the morphometric indices of the species under investigation were inconsisyent,such indices were not enough to assign a key for perfect indices were helpful to give a preliminary information about inter-specific variatiom.
