Abstract The present work is concerned with the geological interpretation of gravity data for a part of the Egyptian Western Desert (Faghur-Umbarka are), which lies between latitudes 29º 36’ to 31 º 12’ north and longitudes 24 º 48’ to 26 º 24’ east. It is aimed here to correlate the distribution of gravity anomlies and the subsurface geologic structure. The second derivative method, especially Rosenbach`s the Biugeur anomaly map obtained from the Egyptian Petroleum Organization (Scale 1 : 50.000). The residual values have been computed after Rosenbach`s formula 91953) assuming gitter spacing S=2.5 km. which is also considered to be equal to the smallest under investigation, i.e., S=s. |
