Abstract Premarital care (PMC) is an advantage given to young couples on their way to marriage that helps in making good preparation and initial adjustment to determine whether their marriage lives up to their expectations or whether they meet obstacles in reaching their goals (Kam, P.K. and Man, K.Y., 2000). It was evident that premarital care is a worthwhile activity to prevent reproductive health hazards, sexual dysfunction, marital distress, divorce and family break down; so it will save the society and allow people to enjoy life (Hahliweg et al., 1998; Silliman, et al., 2001 and Stanley, et al., 2002). from public health point of view, premarital care is a useful approach for diagnosis and treatment of unrecognized disorders, reducing transmission of diseases to partners and offspring, providing health education as well as a convenient mean of collecting information on health of the population for planning purposes (Hesketh T., 2003). Premarital care is a necessity to maintain healthy marriage and reproductive performance, good preparation for marriage is an essential issue to be considered by premarital people. However, peoples perception and their acceptance of premarital care owes much to cultural and social influences; which have a greater implications for launching PMC programs in the community (Cao et al., 2002 and Demetriates, 2003). |
