Abstract A number of new tetrazole derivatives were synthesized. The structures of all the synthesized compounds were confirmed by their spectral and analytical data; IR, 1H NMR and mass spectra which were in agreement with the assigned structures. The synthesized compounds were tested for antimicrobial activity displaying different degrees of antimicrobial activities or inhibitory actions. The dielectric properties (dielectric constant έ and power factor tan δ) and conductivity of some investigated compounds were measured as disc of 12 mm diameter, in the temperature range (20- 150oC) and frequency range (0.1 KHz- 5 MHz) using HIOKI 3532 LCR Hi- Tester. The key tetrazole compounds 140 and 141 were synthesized by refluxing phthalamide 137 with acrylonitrile in ethanol or stirring with chloroacetonitrile in DMF at room temperature, respectively, followed by reaction with sodium azide and ammonium chloride in DMF (Scheme 1). |
