Abstract

The present study was designed for clinical and experimental
application of some techniques used for treatment of skin disorders
(wounds and swellings) in farm animals. The clinical aspect was
carried on a total number of 134 animals (87 donkeys, 16 horses, 10
buffalos, 12 cattle, 3 goats, 5 sheep and 1 dog) suffering from
different skin lesions. These animals were collected from different
localities of Menoufia province, Brook Hospitals Society for animals
and veterinary clinic at Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Menoufia
University. Routine surgical manipulation was successful in 87 cases
through simple interrupted suturing (30 case), topical application of
antiseptics and antibiotic ointment (57 cases). The rest of cases (47
cases) were selected for application of some reconstructive
techniques. The used reconstructive techniques were undermining
technique (29 cases), punctate relaxing incision technique (8 cases),
Z-plasty technique (3 cases), V-plasty technique (2 cases), Half-Hplasty
technique (one case), Simple pedicle flap technique (one case)
and S-shape incision technique (3 cases).
