Abstract The broiler housing system is one such system that has the nature of dealing with nl!merous parameters such as environmental fuctors, the structure components, materials, orientation, geometry and the broiler needs and activity Experimental investigation of such housing system under a combination of many factors such as weather parameters, materials, geometry, different environmental control techniques, and the flock requirements is virtually so difficult if it is not impossible” Another alternative approach is to simulate mathematically the system, and with the aid of the computer programming all of these factors and their combined effects can be investigated to idealize the broiler housing system. Therefore, The main objective ofthe present study was to investigate and analyze the Egyptian broiler structures, then determine the real ventilation rates and energy demands (heating and cooling) to control the broiler environment at their comfort conditions. Such an investigation leads to understand their performance under various environmental factors,l:\Ghousing configuration, orientation and management practices. ’The well understanding of the performance of the broiler housing system under the Egyptian conditions gives anoppottunity to tluggei;t the ~uitable hoJEing and environmental control s-ystem(s) for broilars. |
