Abstract
Due to international shortage of nurses nowadays in the elderly homes the workload is delegated to caregivers. Caregivers are not nurses but they work under the nurse supervision. They provide direct and indirect resident care activities. Performing exercises also is part of their role. Nurses as a health educator are responsible for developing and creating means and ways of communication to convey health messages to the caregivers.
The present study aimed to develop an educational video film for the caregivers of immobilized elders. The study was conducted at Dar Ahmos Khalifa (Non Governmental Elderly Home) and Dar Elhana (Governmental Elderly Home) in Alexandria.
This study included all caregivers who were available at the time of the study at the previously mentioned settings. They fulfilled the following criteria: agreeing to participate in the study, providing care for immobile elders, and hired by the institution or by elderly Family.
