Abstract

Recent advances in wireless communications have motivated the widespread of wireless sensor networks (WSNs), with the development of extremely small, low-cost, and low-power of multi functional sensor nodes that are small in size and communicate in short distances. Hence, WSNs have attracted huge interest from the wireless research community due to their potential appli¬cations for both the military and civilian domains. Therefore, many routing protocols have been proposed for WSNs with the focus of reducing the energy consumption for the energy-constrained sensor nodes. Due to its typically harsh deployment environment, WSNs possess a number of security vulnera¬bilities due to wireless medium unreliability, cooperative routing, broadcast nature of the transmission medium, and hostile deployment environment. This highlights the need for secure routing protocols for WSNs.
Secure routing is a challengeable subject while designing a routing proto¬col for WSNs due to the wide use of sensor networks in many applications, many sensor network routing protocols have been proposed for WSNs, only few of them addressed secure routing. The main contributions of this work are as follow: First, we propose an erasure coding based multi path routing scheme MSR; Multipath Secure Reliable erasure coding based routing pro¬tocol for WSNs. Second, MSR is compared to AOMDV and shows that MSR scheme provides high reliability with strong defense against many WSNs’ se¬curity attacks.
