المستخلص WiMAX is the promising broadband wireless technology. It provides many benefits over the telecommunication environment such as the wide coverage area and the mobility support. This thesis considers the handover procedure defined in the WiMAX, focus on the BS selection during handover and its involved sub phases, the scanning and the capabilities negotiation. The main target of these two phases is gathering information needed for the selection decision. However they are time and resources consuming. For the scanning sub phase, an adaptive multi scanning algorithm is proposed to regulate and optimize this activity. The second optimization is the presented fast negotiation scheme with its evaluated model. The third contribution is the new metrics introduced for the selection decision algorithm. |
