Abstract

The progressive increase of childhood cancer prevalence makes an
urgent need for proper prevention plans which efforts to identify its risk
factors and predisposing factors and avoid these factors as possible. from
these factors the roles of genetics is of extreme value.
The aim of this study is to highlight the congenital anomalies and
genetic malformations and other risk factors that may lead to or associate
with childhood cancer in Egypt as age sex and prenatal hazards.
The study included 150 patients of childhood cancer recruited from
Oncology Unit, Children’s hospital, Ain-Shams University, and Pediatric
Oncology Unit Clinic, Damietta Cancer Institute; whether on active
treatment or follow up; and 50 normal patients of same age groups included
in the study as control of the same demographic criteria to pass through
exact same steps of assessment and examination.
