Abstract Seam pucker is a fault most commonly encountered by garment manufacturing. reduces the value of the finished product since seam appearance is critical for the buye Puckering is a disruption in the original surface area of sewn fabric and gives a gather and wrinkled effect along the line of the seam. This work aims to the influence 0 mechanical properties of sewing threads on the seam pucker. For thirty six tri experimental design of three factors at two levels (yarn type, needle count and need manufacture) and three factors at three levels [fabric mass, fabric type and machi speed) were applied. The seam pucker, bending length and crease recovery wer evaluated before and after washing and drying. A quadratic regression equation w proposed, to determine the relation between the properties tested and the factors unde study. The Hest was applied for determining the effect of washing on’ the quality 0 garments. |
