Abstract The main purpose of this study was to measure the effectiveness of a proposed content-based course in English on developing the stud• skills of science-major students at Port Said Faculty• of Education. The sample of the study• comprised twenty-six third year students in the biology• and geology department at Port Said Faculty• of Education . The following tools were used : - Two needs analysis questionnaires, An achievement test, An initial list of content themes and, A course evaluation questionnaire. Results showed that obtained f-values for the test were statistically• significant. The modified gain ratio was ( 1.2) The size effect of the course was high ( 11.59). These results indicated that the proposed course was effective in developing the study• skills of the science-major students. |
