Abstract

Suninuny Listeria monocytogenes is a human and animal pathogen which is ide spread in nature. It is a transient constituent of the intestinal flora kcreted by 1-10 % of healthy human. Lisieria monocytogenes has been bolated from a wide variety of foods including milk and milk products. neat and its products as well as poultry. Most of the food borne teriosis outbreaks have been linked to the consumption of milk roducts. All strains of listeria monocytogenes are pathogenic by definition Ithough some appear to be more virulent than others. The infection has latively low morbidity but a high case thtality and greatest risk in regnant women and the neonatal child, alcoholics, drug abusers. iabetics, patients receiving treatment which alters their natural hmnunity, AIDS patients and the elderly. Three hundred and fifty random samples of raw milk, meat and heir products as well as poultry samples were collected for this study. Hey were 60 samples of raw milk, 60 dairy products including 30 of ach, Damietta cheese and Kariesh cheese , 25 raw meat, 40 frozen heat, 100 meat products including 50 minced meat and 25 of each usage and beetburger and 65 of poultry.
