Abstract In our study, forty patients with mitral regurge operated upon by mitral valve repair using (ePTFE) Gortex suture as an artificial chordae. Those patients were operated and followed-up during the period from March 2008 till September 2011in Cardiothoracic Surgery Department, Faculty of Medicine, Zagazig University and Catharina hospital, Eindhoven, Netherlands We select the patient for mitral valve repair with using artificial chordae beside other methods of mitral valve repair according to preoperative clinical evaluation and transthoracic echocardiography study of valve, but last decisions were taken during the operation by pre-bypass transesophageal echocardiography and analysis of the valve and subvalvular apparatus by direct vision intraoperative where we found that there were no significant differences from preoperative analysis. |
