Abstract T he p resent stud y was c arried out at the P oultry R esearc h Farm , D ep artment of P oultry P rod uc tion, Fac ulty of A gric ulture M inufiya U niversity at S hibin El-K om , d uring the p eriod from 2010 to 2011. T wo hund red and forty (72 m ales and 168 females) N orfa and S inai strains c hic kens aged 16 weeks, were c hosen rand om ly. A t 16 weeks of age, bird s of eac h strain were d ivid ed into three c omparable group s of 20 bird s eac h (14 females and 6 males). T he first group was exp osed to inc and esc ent light (c ontrol), the sec ond was exp osed to fluoresc ent light, and the third one was exp osed to infrared light. All bird s und er light treatments were exp osed to lighting p eriod for 14 hours / d ay. Eac h group was d ivid ed into two subgroup s, the first: V itamin E 1ml (20.000IU ) ad d ed to one liter of their d rinking water for 5 d ay/wk, whereas the sec ond one c onsumes d rink water without V itamin E . T he number of treatments were 12 (6 treatments for eac h strain). T his exp eriment was d esigned to stud y the effec t of d ifferent light c olors (Inc and esc ent, Fluoresc ent and Infrared light) and V itamin E sup p lementation on some p hysiologic al p arameters in N orfa and S inai strains (bod y weight, growth rate, bone strength, egg weight, egg q uality, c arc ass q uality and blood charac teristic s).Also, to stud y the effec t of light c olor and using V .E on the intensity of free rad ic als on the surfac e of the eggshell. |
