Abstract

The main purpose of the current study was to explain the major complications occurred due to Ehrlich ascites carcinoma cells implantation to form soild tumor in female mice, and to explain the potential role of chitosan-Cu complex for prevention and intervention of the disturbances in the metabolic profile, tumor markers and the antioxidant status.
It is now known that, the use of natural extracts in the treatment of some diseases, including cancer become more common and widespread because of its positive effects in most cases with a low price and ease of success and low rate of toxicity.
Mice divided into 4 groups : Control group - Chitosan -Cu complex group- EACc inoculated group and Chitosan -Cu complex and EACc inoculated group .
Ehrlich ascites carcinoma cells resulted in an imbalance in all the estimated parameters , where a marked increase size in the body , the high level of arginase, Alpha L fucosidase activities, Bcl2, in concomitant with a decrease in the level of P53 and G0 / 1 , an increase in the level of G2 / m, S, Apop. There was also a rise in the level of MDA accompanied by a decrease in the level of Total antioxidant capcity, GSH level in addition to the decrease in the level of sodium and iron and a rise in the level of potassium and calcium.
On the other hand, adminstration of Chitosan-Cu complex to experimental animals the control have not significantly changed most of the criteria specified in this experiment.
Adminstration of Chitosan-Cu complex to experimental animals pre EACc inoculation resulted significant improvement in most estimated parameters. The study showed that the Chitosan-Cu complex showed significant effect to protect mice against hazard effect of cancer.
from the foregoing we can said that, the use of Chitosan-Cu complex at a dose of 200 mg / kg reducing the severity of the cancer induced experimentally by EAC cells in experimental animals as well as to reduce the turbulence observed in the rest of the criteria associated with the occurrence of the tumor, vital activity of experimental animals exposed to cancer encouraging further work to extend through this point of view.
