Abstract

The present study aims to determine the stability of the locally prepared 2 formulae of inactivated RVF (liquid and freeze dried) and lyophilized live attenuated BEF vaccines when stored under different temperatures following the application of the quality control protocols for evaluation of veterinary vaccines. The obtained experimental results revealed that the prepared inactivated RVF vaccine formulae (liquid and freeze-dried) were free from foreign contaminants, safe, potent.
Also it was found that the storage of the liquid inactivated RVF vaccine did not affect passively its ED50at 4ºC; 25ºC; 37ºC and 45ºC for 14 months; 9weeks; 16 days and 48 hours respectively. The ED50 value was with the permissible limit (less than 0.02) during these periods.
Also storage of the freeze dried inactivated RVF vaccine at4ºC; 25ºC; 37ºC; 45ºC and -20ºCdid not affect the ED50up to periods of 16 months; 12 weeks; 25 days; 60 hours and 30 months respectively.
The prepared live attenuated BEF vaccine was free from foreign contaminants, safe, potent.
And it was found that the lyophilized BEF vaccine could be valid when stored at ºC; 25ºC; 37ºC; 45ºC and -20ºC for 24 months; 3 days; 30 hous; 10 minutes and 24 months respectively. The reconstituted vaccine was stable at ºC; 25ºC; 37ºC; 45ºC and -20ºC for 30 days; 2 days; 3 hours; 5 minutes and 24 months respectively.
