Abstract Family medicine is a medical specialty devoted to comprehensive health care to people of all ages. It is a form of primary care that provides continuing, comprehensive health care for the individual and family across all ages, sexes, diseases, and parts of the body. It is based on knowledge of the patient in the context of the family and the community, emphasizing disease prevention and health promotion . Application of Family Medicine System in Egypt followed development of HSRP and was associated with introduction of Accreditation and Quality improvement . Accreditation is a process for evaluating the facility according to a set of standards that define activities and structures that directly contribute to improved patient outcome . The primary goal of introduction of accreditation in healthcare services is to improve performance in healthcare facilities through the standardization of practices and practicing quality improvement . This study is a comparative cross sectional study . It was carried in 2 accredited health units applying Family Medicine System and 2 non-accredited health units not applying the System in Aga health district in Dakahlia Governorate . |
