Abstract The present study is an attempt to investigate the effect of Stobadine a new potent synthetic compound to be tested against oxidative stresses resulting from long term treatment of Sulindac as a non steroidal anti-inflammatory drug. Results were obtained from three experimental groups given Sulindac or/and Stobadine in normal rats. These were further compared with a normal control group. This work involved different aspects of study namely the morphological, biochemical, histological, histochemical and ultrastructural studies. The present findings were then discussed in view of relevant literature available in similar fields of studies. According to the present study the results may provide simple antidotes of a potent synthetic antioxidant to alleviate the effect associated with long term oral administration of non steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. Thus suggestions for further studies were recommended. |
