Through evolution and experience gained over the centuries it was possible to reach to the importance of characterizing design with the human dimension which provides integrated health care to patients and to provide psychological comfort and sense of security and comfort which is the first step in treatment and to characterize the interior design with flexibility for all functional changes according to the latest modern technologies. from this point there was to study the importance of the humanitarian needs of the oncology patient and taken into consideration when designing the interior spaces of buildings at the oncology Centers and greatly help to speed healing the sick and removing fear of death.
The research questions are: How can the humanitarian aspects, psychological and aesthetic of the patients affect on the design of interior spaces of the Oncology Centers ?, How can the elements of interior design affect in the Oncology centers patients positively and negatively?
The research aims to improve the performance of the interior spaces in oncology centers in line with human needs and psychological to the user without affecting the functionality of it.
Study Steps: The research focuses on the requirements of the design of the interior spaces that stem from the needs of the patient’s humanity and psychological, also natural requirements of these spaces, and highlights on other aspects that complement and improved that would develop and improve the performance of those spaces and make attention on the beauties which respond to humanitarian needs and the psychological to the user. Then deals with an analytical study of the international experiences of and local experience according to the principles of the analytical study derived from the theoretical study, including comparison to clarify who passed the objectives of the study through the results of analytical study. Then deals with a field study for Mansoura oncology center as a sample for the study of the Oncology centers in Egypt and to study the extent to which the humanitarian needs of patients in the center, and to study the compatibility of the design of internal spaces of the center with the foundations of the analytical study.
The research concludes that the modern developments in the field of interior design provides an good psychological environment for Oncology patients, ” study the humanitarian needs of the Oncology patient and taken into consideration when designing internal spaces to the building the Oncology centers greatly help to speed healing the sick and remove the fear of death. ”
The research recommends that the study of interior design of the interior spaces in oncology centers on the precise knowledge of the study of interior design and its functional and psychological different effects, and the designer to be fully aware of the various humanitarian needs of the patient within the space which is designed to contribute to increase the chances of a speedy recovery. And guide the architectural to the importance of his function which is no less important than the treating physician for the patients .Should also benefit from international experiences in the field of interior design, where it proved its efficiency and success in this area to respond to the humanitarian needs of the patient and that based on the analytical study.
