Abstract The performance analysis of induction motor fed from variable frequency inverter has been studied. Performance characteristics are simulated and computed. The motor torque / speed characteristics at different frequencies are presented. A mathematical model for induction motor, driving a fan load at different speeds and fed from digital controller is introduced. For induction motor energy saving achievement at constant and variable frequency, the necessary motor voltage is calculated. This voltage should vary with load torque variation. The operation of induction motor with fan load at variable frequency gives high value for energy saving specially at low frequency. This work presents a simplified approach for a digital controller of variable three-phase inverter supplying a three-phase induction motor. The considered digital controller has been studied, analyzed, designed, implemented and put in working conditions. Some interesting waveforms of the digital controller have been recorded at different frequencies. |
