Abstract Aim of the study This study aims at preliminary assessment of the relative safety and efficacy of unfractionated heparin, dalteparin, enoxaparin and nadroparin as adjuncts to thrombolytic therapy with streptokinase in acute ST segment elevation myocardial infarction. Conclusion Based on the results of this study, it can be concluded that unfractionated heparin is equally safe and effective to subcutaneous dalteparin sodium, enoxaparin sodium, and nadoparin calcium in the doses used in this study as adjuvant therapies to thrombolysis with streptokinase in patients presenting with acute STEMI. Further large-scale studies are needed to confirm this conclusion and provide it with the appropriate weight it needs for wide scale clinical application. |
