Abstract
The aim of study was to asess knowledge and belives of motgers about female circumision in tanta city.
This study was carried out in fout maternal and child health care centers under the supervision of ministry of health in tanta city.
A sample of 400 mothers having daughters were chosen randomly.
An interview sheet was designed and mothers were interviiewed individually.
A poliot study was carried out on 20 mothers before the field work to test the different items of the questionnaire.
