Abstract orthcoming in recent years because of their possible involvement in numerous industrial processing. In our present study, we report for the first time, the production of xylanase from Streptomyces coriofaciens, a local soil isolate with a high potency to degrade lignocellulosic agro-industrial by products: 1- S. coriofaciens xylanase was induced by only xylan when grown in a minimal medium but several agro-industrial residues, of commercial potential could efficiently induce the .j production of xylanase. Barley straw appeared to be of most economic and technical potential for large-scale production of xylanase and was therefore selected as main substrate (carbon source) for further experiments. This substrate supported the synthesis of enzyme of highest activity (14.87 U/ml. |
