Abstract This study aims at investigating the effectiveness of the global education approach in developing the English speaking skills of first year secondary school students. The subjects in this study were 60 first year secondary school students. They were assigned randomly into two groups: the experimental group and the control group. A speaking test was designed to measure students’ speaking skills. The results of the study showed that there was a statistically significant difference between the mean scores of the experimental group and those of the control group in the skills of pronunciation ,grammatical use, fluency and content. But ,there was not a statistically significant difference between the mean scores of the experimental group and those of the control group in vocabulary. |
