Abstract Micronutrient deficiencies have been shown to be one of the mostimportant causes of short stature in children, when there is rapid growth and a concomitant high nutritional demand. Among Micronutrients, iron and zinc are common nutritional deficiencies in the world. Zinc and iron are trace elements with great nutritional importance and are particularly necessary in cellular replication and the development of the immune response. Therefore, if the growing children are at risk of developing zinc and iron deficiency, then an adequate supply of them is essential for normal growth and development. |
