Abstract The main objective of this research is to study the impact resistance of reinforced ferrocement concrete plates reinforced with various reinforcing materials. The dimensions of the developed ferrocement and control test specimens were kept constant as 500mm width and 500 mm length . The thickness is kept constant as 25 mm. The test specimens were loaded under four points’ loadings until failure. The effects of the main parameters will be studied. High resistance ferrocement plates will be developed with high crack resistance and energy absorption properties could be used with great economic advantages in the same way as steel plates in some of its uses and very useful for developed and developing countries alike. T w e n ty plates were cast and cured for 28-days before testing. The dimensions of all test specimens were kept constant. The length of the plates was 500 mm, 500 mm width and 25 mm thick . The ferrocement plates reinforced with welded metal mesh, welded metal mesh with steel bars , expanded steel mesh, expanded steel mesh with steel bars , and steel bars applying different reinforcement schemes. five designations series were developed. Series 1 consists of casting and testing plates No.1, 2, 3, 4 which were reinforced with steel bars . Series 2 comprises casting and testing plates No.5, 6 ,7 and 8 which were reinforced with weleded metal mesh . Series 3 comprises casting and testing plates No. 9, 10 , 11, 12 and 13 which were reinforced with welded steel mesh of size of opening (12.5mmx12.5mm) and steel bars. Series 4 comprises casting and testing beams No. 14 , 15 ,16 which were reinforced with expanded mesh. Series 5 comprises casting and testing beams No. 17 , 18 , 19 and 20 which were reinforced with expanded mesh and steel bars . All test specimens were tested with simply supported . until failure.
