Abstract CRC is a growing public health and economic burden which is the third most common cancer worldwide after lung and breast. About three quarters of CRC cases are associated with the population lifestyle and these factors which associated with its risk including: unhealthy diet, smoking, alcohol intake, physical inactivity, overweight and obesity. Current evidence shows that the prevention of CRC is possible through lifestyle intervention and adoption to healthy on. To determine the relation between lifestyle factors (dietary pattern, smoking, physical activity and alcohol intake) and development of CRC among CRC patients attending EI-Minia oncology center comparing them with their control, with a trial carried out to motivate cases and controls at high risk to adopt healthy lifestyles by delivering information about healthy diet and physical activity. This is an interventional case control study, which carried out in EIIMinia governorate during the period from October 20 I 0 to August 2011. An approval was taken from the Ministry- of Health and from the manager of EI- Minia oncology center to obtain data about number of eRC patients attending the center during the previous years and to facilitate the communication with personnel working in the center. A written informed consent was taken from each participant. |
