Abstract The present work is assigned to study the corrosion behavior of carbon steel in 1 M H2SO4 and the inhibiting effect of some pharmaceutical compounds. The obtained results showed that the inhibition efficiency of these compounds increased by increasing their concentration, so that the adsorption of these compounds is physical and the adsorption of these pharmaceutical compounds on carbon steel surface in 1 M H2SO4 follows Temkin adsorption isotherm. Some thermodynamic parameters are computed and discussed. Potentiodynamic polarization technique was used as a second method to study the inhibiting effect of the used inhibitors. Also, impedance spectroscopy measurements , Weight Loss method and theoretical calculations were used. |
