Abstract Both developed and resource-poor countries are faced with the burden of Healthcare-associated infections (HAIs), Nosocomial Pneumonia (NP) is one of the most common infections occurring in hospitalized patients. Prompt and specific identification of patients with true pulmonary bacterial infection might necessitate antibiotics to be initiated rapidly and also as a monitor to avoid overuse. The most important factor influencing the mortality of HAP is prompt and adequate empiric treatment. According to the American Society of Microbiology, approximately 70% of nosocomial infections are caused by organisms resistant to 1 antimicrobial agent. |
