Abstract Arterial hypertension determines distinct adaptive left r geometric responses, which may ventricula differently affect left ventricular function and left atrial performance . In patients with systemic arterial hypertension, as well as in other models of left ventricular overload , increase in left atrial size and function is thought to be a mechanism counterbalancing impairment of left ventricular filling and the progression of left ventricular diastolic dysfunction The study aimed to asses the effect of left ventricular geometry on left atrial size and function and the relationship between left atrial size and left ventricular mass in patient with systemic hypertension. |
