Abstract The simplest outcome of any aerial-photogrammetric operation is to get the ground coordinates of points that appear clearly on at least two. Successive photographs, taken in such a way that a stereoscopic model of the photographed terrian is produced either directly by using a photogrammetric plotter, or indirect by analytical means. The photogrammetric operations, may be extended a little more frather to produce a planimetric and a complete aight plan. If the area required to be photographed is large, so that it cannot be contained in the common areas coverd by two successive photographs (Model), so a strip of photographs are to be photographed. It is a common practice, that sufficient number of ground control paints are distributed in the first model, therefore its relative and absolute orientation will be carried out.All other models forming the strip can be relatively oriented and scaled to each other with the first model. For checking the sequence of the operation some ground control points are needed along the strip models. During the many steps several kinds of systematic errors are introduced into the photogrammetric system. Three includes uncorrected lens distortion, reractio and earth curvature, film deformation, printer calibration errors, instrumental error, and certain random errors that accumulates in a systematic manner. Ablock diagram of an ideal continous strip of models, in which the ground is assumed to be level for the sake of models, in which the ground is assumed to be level for the sake of clarity is given. The thre methods of aerotriangulation, namely, analog syereotriangulation, independent model triangulation, and analytical aerotriangulation are discusse in this work. All the method of aerial triangulation and their adjustment are fully reviewed also with all fine details. The propagation of errors affecting the strips are classiified to systematic errors, irrugular errors and its effect is given by equations. The influence of errors on each others are discussed. |
