Abstract

In the 21 sI century, an urgent need to efficient and reliable transportation and logistics system has shown up where many companies and firms operate a whole fleet to satisfy their needs. Regardless the type of these needs, making a decision based on proved scientific means will be safer and more rational. Operating a fleet revolves around locating things using roads networks and geographical information, which made the usage of the Geographical Information systems (GIS) mandatory and very beneficial where data storage, retrieval, processing and sharing using the coordinates of things is very easy.
Another type of software show up lately where GlS outputs and mathematical models of different applications are merged in one package is called the Spatial Decision Support Systems (SDSS). As indicated by the name, the aim of this software type is decision makers’ support operationally, tactically or strategically through on time results geographical and tabular presentation of each problem alternative selection.
This scientific report merges GIS with SDSS as in the developed countries and global firms specialized in waste management field, and it applies this idea in Nahdet Misr Co. the most specialized company in environmental services field in Egypt.
