Abstract In this work is an environmental investigation of the impact of coal mining and cement manufacturing on the concentration levels of radioactive isotopes and major and trace elements. Different samples were analyzed including raw materials, coal, cement, and sand. The results of El- Maghara mine establish the low levels of an activity concentrations In meta urgica eo an even lower concentrations in locally produced coal. No evidence of elevated activities of NORM in the mine environment was found. Mine workers who deal with waste are subjected to a relatively high absorbed dose rate. The local mining may have constituted AI, Fe, Co, and V pollution source for the area. The Egyptian coal is richer in Band Pb than coals produce in other countries and have lower contents of Cu,Mn,and Sr. |
