Abstract

Child abuse is a problem of many aspects social, economic, psychological, legal and medical. It present from many years in all countries, societies. It occurs due to many causes and many problems occur due to it as divorce and children street and others. It is wrong to think that Islam agree about violence against children the opposite is the correct.
The present study is done to evaluate the problem of child abuse in (Qena, Aswan, Red sea governorates) in comparison to( Greater Cairo department and morgue) which include Cairo, Giza, and Kaliopia, governorates the results was the following :-
Child abuse cases in ”Qena, Aswan, Red sea” governorates were 74 cases most of the victims were male (60.8%), trauma occurs allover the body in (24.3%) of the cases, seek of honor was the motive for violence (13.5%), correction was the motive for violence (13.5%), infanticide motive for violence (12.2%), death was the fate of violence in (43.2%) of the cases and permanent infirmity occurs in (10.8%)of the cases, major part of trauma was of sexual type (27.3%) and the least one was cut (2.7%), major part of the victims(25.7%) were more than 15 years.
Child abuse cases in Greater Cairo Department and Morgue were 97 cases most of the victims were male (50.5%), trauma occurs allover the body in (42.3%) of the cases, seek of honor was the motive for violence (10.3%), correction was the motive for violence (17.5%), infanticide was the motive for violence (15.5%), death was the fate of violence in (33.0%) of the cases and permanent infirmity occurred in (14.4%)of the cases, major part of trauma was of sexual type (16.5%) and the least one was firearm injuries (3.1%), major part of the victims(15.4%) were newborn.
It was found that the majority of cases in ”Qena, Aswan, Red sea” governorates were found in age group (from 15 to 18 years of age) (19 cases) followed by age group (from 10 to 15 years of age) (18 cases). It was also found that males outnumbered females in almost age groups. While the majority of cases in Cairo department and morgue were found in age group (from 1 to 5 years of age) (30 cases) followed by age group (from 10 to 15 years of age) (25 cases).
Firearm injuries are only found in males, where children are subjected to quarrels. Also, the higher number of sharp weapons, blunt traumas used were found higher in males than females. While burn, asphyxia, poisoning traumas were higher in females than males.
