Abstract The advantages of laser-bleaching techniques are a more uniform color, less sensitivity because of less heat, and less operator time needed for application. The disadvantages of using the laser are that the results are similar to the light-heat method, it is necessary to follow up with home matrix bleaching, and it is a lot more costly. The goal of power bleaching is to whiten the tooth with such efficiency to obtain controlled temperature elevation and without morphological and chemical changes to enamel It was found that the selective laser radiation can decrease the time of bleaching without the tooth surface modification. Laser radiations thus contribute to the field of tooth bleaching. Currently the laser has been proven the most valuable energy source for power bleaching with simple and short application in office. Within the limitation of this study diode laser 980nm can be beneficial for bleaching with possible reduction of post bleaching hypersensitivity. |
