Abstract A full analytical and experimental investigation of stead-state and transient performance of 3- phase, fully controlled rectifier bridges are carried out. Most of the previous investigations were based on the assumptions that, with supply feeding the bridge is ideal of non-ideal,the local current is level. Also, the study of the transient current of the a. c. and d. c. sides of the bridge has not been dealth with in depth previously. In this thesis, the investigation is carried out for both ideal and non-ideal supplies, with the load current assumed not to be level.Closed form analytical expressions, at steady-state, are derived for the load and supply current. Also, the transient characteristics for a. c. and d. c. sides are investigated. Experimental results were obtained to validate the theoretical results of the investigation. |
