Abstract This work aims to use microcomputer-based speed control 44for separately excited dc motor drive .Investigation and improvement of speed control is also developed In order to achieve a wide range of speed, above base speed, field weakening is necessary. Spillover field weakening control system is one of the conventional means controllers. This field weakening control system is modified by using both actual feedback speed and amature current signals to field- controller. This process is used in ordr to reduce the transients and fairly steady state operation is attained A computer-based solution of the equations, arising from the application of optimal control theory, determines an optimal PI-controllers. Theoretical and experimental results show close agreement. Expressions in-terms of system gains were designed. These expressions are used to realize speed, armature current, and field current characteristics Theoritical and experimental results show close agreement. |
