Abstract

This study was carried out during 2009 and 2010 seasons on thirty-nine uniform in vigour 15-years old head trained Thompson seedless grapevines grown in a private vineyard located at El- Faroukia village, Samalout district, Minia Governorate.
Winter pruning during each season was conducted on the first week of Jan. by using head pruning system leaving 72 eyes (10 long fruiting spurs × six eyes plus × six replacement spurs × two eyes). All the selected vines had the same vine load (72 eyes).
This study aimed to throw some lights on the effect of single or combined application of zinc and Aminoquelant- Ca on some vegetative growth characters, plant pigments, nutrients in the leaves, yield and quality of Thompson seedless grapes. Selecting the best combined treatment responsible for gaining an economical yield is considered another target. Except those dealing with the present treatments, all the vines received the usual horticultural practices that already used in the vineyard.
The present experiment involved the following thirteen single and combined applications of chelated- Zn and Aminoquelant- Ca in addition to the control treatments.
Based on the obtained data in both seasons, it is suggested to spray Thompson seedless grapevines four times at the first and last week of March, the third week of April and the second week of May with chelated- Zn and Aminquelant – Ca each at 0.2% for obtaining an economical yield and improving quality of the berries. This treatment could be applied under the experimental and resembling conditions.
