Abstract A power system stabilizer based on neuro-fuzzy inference theory for the purpose of enhancing the damping on generator rotor oscillations is presented. The proposed approach is based on fuzzy logic, artificial neural networks and neuro-fuzzy logic,where the tuning of its parameter is based on computed values derived from the prior solution of the power system model using the eigenvalues technique. These proposed controllers are thereafter included in computer simulation for a simple power system model subjected to both small and large diturbances. The effectiveness of the proposed method in enhancing the damping of low frequency oscllations under various operating conditions is established. |
