Abstract Various daliy scenes were depicted at the Theban private tombs of the new kingdom and between other, those of the handcrafts which can give us an idea about the different industrial scenes and what were the steps that the ancient Egyptian worker did in the processes of manufacturing of stone and metal work. Different kinds of metals were used in ancient Egypt like gold, copper, silver, electrum iron, tin, bronze, lead and platinum . in addition, traces of nickel, zinc, arsenic, antimony and cobalt have been detected in small amounts in metal artifacts. Metals were also imported by trade or as a tribute from neighbouring countries, especially gold and copper, of which great quantities were used. In many scenes, there is a depiction for these metals the metal work and its steps. The weighing scene represented one of the steps, which is sometimes considered as the first step in metal industry or the last step while in some cases the weighing of the metals serves to show the trade connection and how the ancient Egyptian brought these metals for using in the different metal industries. |
