Abstract
The present study deals with the synthesis of some new phenolic and indolic compounds incorporating pyrazole moiety, starting from 4-arylidene-3-methyl-1-phenyl-5-pyrazolones as key starting compounds.
The material presented in this thesis is separated into two main parts.
Part I: Includes the reaction of 4- arylidenes (2a-c) with polyhydric phenols under different conditions. Mannich reaction with the 4-arylidenes to give phenolic bases.
Part II: The synthesis of some new indolic compound by treating (2a-c) with indole derivatives and antipyrine or pyrazolone derivatives.
• The chemical structures of the new compounds were supported by analytical &spectral data
• The newly synthesized compounds were screened for their antioxidant activity; have an ability to protect DNA from the induced damage by bleomycin and have ability for transformation (proliferated) blasts.
