Abstract Thoracic outlet syndrome is a nonspecific label. When employing it, one should define the type of Thoracic outlet syndrome as arterial Thoracic outlet syndrome, venous Thoracic outlet syndrome, or neurogenic Thoracic outlet syndrome. Each type has different symptoms and physical findings by which the three types can easily be identified. Neurogenic Thoracic outlet syndrome is by far the most common, comprising well over 90% of all Thoracic outlet syndrome patients. (Sanders et al, 2007). |
