Abstract
This thesis is concerned with studying the operation and efficiency of steam power plant this thesis defmes the definition of the thermal power plant, types of power plants and identify of the each major parts of the Abu Qir steam power plant (boiler, turbine, condenser, feed water heaters) and then we can learn and know How we can improve this efficiency, including this studying we present good general information about each major parts. Of the Abu Qir steam power plant to be understood. And how operators can affect efficiency through an understanding of factors that affect efficiency and the tool of the operator controllable loss monitor. Also it shows the operation and performance Multiple Effect Distillation Thermal Vapor Compression Evaporator design for the Abu Qir Desalination Plant is two MED units .Each MED vessel has six effects or stages of evaporation.
