Abstract
The studied area Meleiha is about (700) Km2, is located in the Western Desert of
Egypt with latitude(30° 36), (300 54)N& longitude (270 00), (270 18) E. figure (1-1).
Structurally the concession area occurs with in the Northern Province of the western
desertThe first discovered well was in 1972 called Meleiha IX drilled by Wepco
petroleum company, a 470 BOPD, 42 API oil was tested from 34 ft of Bahariya
formation, sub sequently further wells were Drilled to delineate the structure and to
evaluate the extend of the field. A total of seventy three wells were drilled between
producers and injectors wells. A total of 1536 MMBO were produced up to may 2010
as a whole. so Meleiha block is considered as a multi-exploration target area.
