المستخلص

Wind power generators represent a prominent facility of generating renewable and clean bulk power to utility grids. Basically, there are many good reasons of using more wind energy on electricity systems. For instance, wind generation is supported by not only being clean and renewable but also having minimal running cost requirements. Although wind energy have many benefits, their utilization in the electrical grid doesn’t come without cost. With the increasing penetration of wind energy into the grid, the influence of wind turbines on the grid power quality has drawn more and more attention.
Due to the stochastic nature of wind, power and voltage generated by a wind turbines are more variable than variable than that produced by conventional generators and with the increasing wind power penetration into the grid, therefore the influence of wind turbines on the power quality is becoming an important issue, so standard IEC 61400-21 is set to provide procedures for determining the power quality characteristics of wind turbines.
