Abstract
In this study, vascular anomalies reported to be one of the articles that known to be hidden to large extent in the medicine.More understanding of the developmental anatomy , gross anatomy , radiological anatomy and pathological course of the disease leads to more orientation of the nature of the anomalies.
One of the most disappointing point in this subject is the presence of multiple classifications with multiple names to the same disease. In this study, classifications are sorted in chronological manner from the oldest to the most recent one , aiming to more precise classification.
Clinical presentation of these anomalies is similar , but we have to differentiate between them clinically. After careful clinical assessment we can request investigations ; starting from the non invasive to more invasive studies.
After diagnosis is well established , treatment is attempted with surgical interference taking the upper hand in the trancular lesions, while Conservative and minimally invasive methods (like embolisation , sclerotherapy and coiling ) taking the upper hand in the extratrancular lesions.
The aim is not just to diagnose and treat the anomaly itself but also to study the effect of the anomaly on the organs and treat the affected organ consequently.
Finally, we tried in this study to draw a road map for better management of the vascular anomalies.
