Abstract The present work was l’el’:fGl’l’l’l(!d to investigate the effects of danofloxacin and ceftiofur sodium on some hematological and biochemical parameters . This study was carried out on thirty new Zealand male rabbits weighing 500gm and of 30 days old. Rabbits were divided into 3 groups. Each group contained 10 rabbits. 1 st group non- treated (control group) 2nd group injected with danofloxacin (5mg/kg b.wt. once daily) subcutaneously for three successive days 3rd group injected with ceftiofur sodium (3mg/kg b.wt. once daily) intramuscularly for five successive days. Blood samples were collected at the 1 S\ 7th and 14th days from stopping drugs administration. Two blood samples were collected from the marginal ear vein. The 1 st sample was five ml of blood without anticoagulant was collected in a sterile test tube for separation of serum for some biochemical analysis. The 2nd sample was 1 ml of blood was taken in clean Wasserman tubes containing dipotassium salts of EDT A for hematological examinations. A. Hematological results: A.I. Erythrocytic parameters: Concerning the results of erythrogram, danofloxacin and ceftiofur sodium groups showed a significant decrease in red blood cells count (RBCs), hemoglobin concentration (Hb) and packed cell volume (PCV) at the 1 st and 7th days post stopping the treatment |
