Abstract

This present study deals with the separation of inorganic pollutants (heavy metals) from aqueous solution by two different techniques (sorption and flotation), using low cost sorbent materials such as eggshell, date pits and seeds’ peel of watermelon.
This work was devoted to study the different factors controlling the separation of Ni(II), Pb(II) and Cd(II) ions from different aqueous media . Sorption and flotation techniques were (used in this work) because of their simplicity, saving time, accuracy and the inexpensive chemicals and equipment. Moreover, this investigation aims to establish the use of cheap and widely spread eggshell, date pits and seeds’ peel of watermelon as sorbents and oleic acid as surfactant in a process known as sorptive-flotation.
